Vaccinations are a safe and effective way to protect yourself, your family, and your community from serious illnesses.
They are free on the NHS and offered at different stages of life to help keep everyone healthy.
Getting Vaccinated
Vaccinations are usually provided by a practice nurse at your GP practice.
- You can book an appointment online, by phone, or by visiting the practice reception.
- Older children may receive some vaccinations at school.
For more information, visit the Vaccinations – NHS page.
Vaccinations for People New to the UK
If you’ve recently moved to the UK, it’s important to check your vaccination history. Different countries offer different vaccines, and the NHS provides free vaccinations to protect against illnesses such as measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), polio, and tuberculosis (TB).
Everyone in England can register with a GP practice to access vaccinations, regardless of immigration status or proof of identity. It’s never too late to catch up on missed vaccines.
Learn more at Moved to the UK: Migrant Immunisation – GOV.UK or check the Vaccinations for Migrants leaflet for detailed guidance.
