Walking Fitness Sessions

Join Walking Fitness sessions every Tuesday at 1 PM from Coppice Avenue Library and Wellbeing Centre. These sessions, run by MileShyClub, cover walking distances of 1–2 miles and are open to everyone. The motto is #NoOneGetsLeftBehind.

If getting out of the house is tricky, there are plenty of ways to stay active at home. Try some of the following resources:


Exercise Classes for the Elderly

Age UK Trafford provides exercise classes designed to help you maintain balance and posture:

  • Every Friday, 10 AM–11 AM at Fiona Gardens in Sale
  • Every Wednesday, 9:30 AM–10:15 AM at Age UK Trafford in Urmston

Healthy Hips & Hearts Classes
Gentle exercise sessions to support general everyday life. Seated and standing options are available.

  • Every Wednesday: 9:30 AM–10:15 AM at Age UK Trafford in Urmston

  • Every Friday: 10:00 AM–11:00 AM at Fiona Gardens in Sale

Postural Stability Classes
Targeted classes for those at risk of falling. Access is via referral and assessment.

  • Every Monday:

    • 10:15 AM–11:00 AM at Limelight in Old Trafford

    • 2:00 PM–3:00 PM at All Saints Church, Hale Barns

    • 3:00 PM–4:00 PM at All Saints Church, Hale Barns

  • Every Wednesday:

    • 10:30 AM–11:15 AM at Age UK Trafford in Urmston

    • 12:00 PM–12:45 PM at Salvation Army in Sale

  • Every Thursday:

    • 10:30 AM–11:15 AM at Elkin Court in Partington

  • Every Friday:

    • Online Class via Zoom

Weight Management with FitFans

If you’re aged 35–65 with a BMI of 25 or above, FitFans offers a supportive weight management program, particularly aimed at men. Take the first step by self-referring:


Activities for Dementia Support

Dementia – Live Well, Your Way offers a guide to local activities, including some designed especially for people with dementia.


Walking Fitness

Your Guide to Menopause is a comprehensive resource designed in collaboration with minoritised ethnic communities. It provides essential information to help women make informed decisions and access support during menopause. Find more information here.


Sexual Health Services

Sexual health is a vital part of your physical wellbeing. The Northern Contraception, Sexual Health & HIV Service provides free and confidential support across Manchester, Salford, and Trafford.

Services include:

  • STI and HIV testing and treatment

  • Contraception and emergency contraception

  • Pregnancy testing and advice

  • Menopause care and psychosexual counselling

Appointments can be booked online, with new slots released daily at 8:30 AM and 12:00 PM.

Sale Moor Walking Group – Join Our FREE Wellbeing Walk!

Take a break, get some fresh air, and enjoy a relaxing 30-minute walk through Moor Nook Park and Walkden Gardens!
